Your Student of Golf

Iain Ross-

At Branston Golf and Country Club, Iain was my first Coach, he introduced me to the game and the honesty and etiquete involved. I owe him a great deal, thanks Iain.

Michael Glass

My Father has been an inspiration and a driver for me for many years. After Iain Ross gave me the basics, Dad would take me on the 9 hole course to develop those skills. Ever since he told me he was an Open Champion, I wanted to better him. Later I learnt it was the South Atlantic Open in the Falkland Islands in 1988. And then later he drove me all over the UK, Spain even Portugal to get to competitions on time!

Michael Beaumont

Michael was the chief coach of Staffordshire County based at Beau Desert and he was my introduction to technology that could track what your ball did do and show you what you needed to do. I think he would still be my coach but my Dad explained the logic, we drove 40 minutues to get there and had an hour lesson then drove 40 minutes back home. It was better to have an hour lesson, then practice for an hour and reap the rewards of improvements.

Mike Kanski

Head Instructor at the Harold Swash Putting School of Excellence based at Formby Hall Resort, Southport, North West of England. Mike turned professional in 2004, following a successful amateur career including numerous North of England titles. A session with Mike was an eye opener, the equipment he had to create the undulations of any green was a huge bonus. The demonstration of 'Aim Point' is still helpful to view the movement of the green and anticipate where the ball will go.

Garry Stafford

Garry is the head professional at my local golf club Burton On Trent. Gary teaches the K.I.S. (Keep It Simple) method of coaching. With nearly 40 years of coaching experience, developing his ideas on how he feel the golf swing works. Gary works with all levels of golfers and can organise a programme to suit individuals needs. The offer of free teaching for Junior golfers have started many a Junior to strive for better golf.

Darren Prosser

At Staffordshire, as an under 18 team member, I had the pleasure of the assistance of Darren's advice on the course. His knowledge of shot choice and risk and reward has changed me from being called Robin (cause he spends so much time in the trees) to a much more accurate and careful golfer.

Jon Watts

Jon is based at Barton under Needwood and is the blend of coach juniors need, he sees what you are doing, he corrects the swing, and shows you the benefit using all the modern technology. Video, balance and pressure boards are now the modern teaching aids. I have struck up and developed a great bond between teacher and pupil so much so that I can be out in Portugal take a video on my phone and send it to Jon and he can return it with some tips and hints on improvements. I have learnt how terribly important it is to have a coach that explains in your language and at your level what to do to improve. Thank you Jon www.trugolf.co.uk
